'Peaceful Parents' is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based parenting program to increase resilience in both parents and their children.  ‘Peaceful Parents’ is a strength-based parenting workshop that is engaging, practical and supportive for parents.   Parents learn strategies to lessen stress, enjoy parenting more as well as learning practical strategies to build resilience in their children.

Peaceful Parents is run by trained Peaceful Parent Facilitators who have experience and training in the Peaceful Kids program
"The strongest predictor of life success for children is being able to regulate emotions. This means when they are feeling anxious or avoidant that they can bring themselves back to being resilient. We can teach children these skills. Even better we can show them how to do it. This is where the ‘Peaceful Parents’ program is so powerful. By focusing on listening, communication and mindful parenting we can demonstrate these skills to our children day in day out.

We also know that our relationships thrive when we Connect, Protect and Respect one another (CPR). 'Peaceful Parents' builds this by helping parents to 'Connect' - To their strengths as parents, Identifying strengths of children and Developing cultures of unconditional positive regard, 'Protect' - Know how to handle strong emotions, How to listen well & calming mindfulness and emotional regulation and to 'Respect' - Using the 4 C’s – calm, curious, coach and communicate to develop ways to peacefully parent children.

Georgina and the team at Wellbeing for Kids should be congratulated for putting together such a useful resource for parents.  Bravo!! "

Facilitator Testimonials

'Peaceful Parents' has been an empowering program for our parents who are looking for more peaceful homes. The sessions have given parents useful strategies to use at home with their families and also brought about an awareness to be more present.

The courage and openness in which the parents came into the workshops allowed me as a facilitator develop a group that supported and learned from each other.

Having the 'Peaceful Parents' workshops at our school was a wonderful  way to support our parents who have many common concerns, particularly around anxiety. Parents could then learn about and implement strategies such as mindfulness and reflective listening to build resilience. There was also an added benefit because the information presented in the workshops align with the strategies used at our school.

I have enjoyed peaceful parents so much. This program is brilliant and has allowed me to develop authentic relationships with our parents. I looked forward to each Friday when I ran the sessions. You should be so proud of this program.

Tania Whittaker, St. Joan of Arc Brighton
This was an excellent PD - would definitely recommend to other people / schools.  It links in well with Peaceful Kids and with 'positive parenting' philosophies.  The facilitator resources are very well planned and there is a great range, very accessible and well suited to the needs of parents.  The PD content will enable facilitators to teach parents how to be mindful in particular with their children and family so they can enjoy their time together, stop the disconnect, empower their children as well as themselves with better listening and problem solving skills.
Carolina Ferguson, St. Thomas More Hadfield
I loved the group size of the training, relaxed atmosphere and practical nature of the workshop.  The content is approachable and positive.  I would absolutely recommend this program.  Georgie you have done such as amazing job of sharing your knowledge and preparing us as Peaceful Parents facilitators.
Dani Maroske, Bronte Public School
I would absolutely recommend this learning and PD.  I feel all schools be trained to deliver this program.
Michael, Save the Children Hobart
I enjoyed learning more in depth about mindful parenting.  The content is excellent - lots of new information and challenges for parents, giving themselves permission for self-care.  The resources for parents are excellent.  I would absolutely recommend this program and I would love to see Peaceful Parents at new mum's groups.
Kirsten Schulz, Little Steps O.T.
Georgie once again you have filled my cup to overflowing.  I am so excited about implementing Peaceful Parents at school any my private practice. The 2 days training have been extremely informative, fun and exciting.  It's great to be surrounded by like minded people.  The content of program is informative, relevant and useful.  Parents will benefit from participating and will leave the 4 weeks with more strategies to add to their parenting bag.  It will be great for parents who children have completed Peaceful Kids as the Peaceful Kids program will make more sense to them.  How good would it be if Peaceful Parents was implemented in all schools across Australia !! Georgie thank you so much.  You are such an inspiration and I am truly grateful to be a part of Peaceful Kids and Peaceful Parents.
Andrea White, St. Brigid's Catholic School Adelaide
Awesome training that will be so helpful for services to provide for their parents.  I now have a better understanding of Mindfulness for myself and feeling confident that I will be able to help parents understand Mindfulness. The resources are beautiful and the facilitator manual is set out in a way that is easy to understand.  I think parents and children will benefit from this program as parents will have a better understanding of Mindfulness and spend more positive time with their children.
Melissa Smith, Save the Children
I like that the program is structured and clearly set out.  The information is 'very friendly language'.  Parents would take away at least some part of the course as it touches on different aspects well.  The resources are accessible and look great.  They are reader friendly and lovely images to support the information.
Stephanie Von Schill, Our Lady of Lourdes, Devonport
This program will be beneficial to parents within my school community.  Parents will learn to value Mindfulness as a part of their life and daily routines.  The resources for facilitators are terrific.
Trish Maguire, St. John's Regional College, Dandenong
I gained a lot especially for my overall experience professional practice.  I felt like it gave me a boost to my counselling skills.  Personally it did help me for overall health and wellbeing and even though I am not a parent.  The overall experience was excellent.  The Peaceful Parent program content is excellent.  I think it is the perfect amount of info for parents with just a few core concepts but room for discussion and experiences.  Excellent resources and info for parents.  They will be lucky to be provided such quality resources.

Melanie Fearn, EACH Youth and Family Counselling team.
This PD has re-energised my direction, clarified hurdles to circumvent and aspects to treasure in delivering the program.  I would absolutely recommend this program to others - it is stimulating, affirming and highly applicable to catering for the needs encountered daily, amongst the communities in which I work and engage.  The resources are excellent - comprehensive, attractive and simple and well able to be accessed.
Helen Atwood, OLHC Wendouree
There is a wealth of helpful resources for parents - well done ! They are very comprehensive, practical and accessible for both parents and facilitators. The structure of the content is well sequences and the timings are very helpful.  It's so important for parents to have an understanding of their own mindfulness practice to understand their kids, so that information is very useful.  I would absolutely recommend this PD to those in a Wellbeing Coordinator / leader role, social workers, counselors or Deputies.
Jacinta Singleton, Solway Primary
As usual, Georgina's PD's are engaging, well organised and build on skills and knowledge already in place.  The Peaceful Parents program is Excellent !  I feel confident to present this and can't wait to give it a go.  I think slowing down and enjoying their own lives and time with their children will be the main benefit for parents.  So much more will develop from this point - empathy, kindness and resilience being a few. Yes, Yes, Yes I recommend this program - the more we get this message out the healthier our communities will be.
Kay Lewis-Pyke, Save the Children
I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this training.  The content will enhance my practice and remind me of the things we sometimes forget.  The program is excellent and the resources are amazing, so well documented, easy to follow and all laid out perfectly.  I would absolutely recommend this PD and program.
Kay Lewis-Pyke, Save the Children
Amazing, amazing knowledge that has been given.  The parents will gain so much from this.  The main thing for parents knowing it's ok and having the knowledge from this course they can grow their family positively.  Amazing resources - it has everything.  I would recommend this PD for sure, even not just for schools / teachers, even just as a parent.   Knowledge is power = change = growth.
Penny Szakal, Our Lady of the Nativity, Aberfeldie
The PD had excellent professional engagement with the presenter and the group.  I am now extremely informed and ready to be supported to go forth.  I am excited to use and present the program to parents and I think the parents will benefit from the knowledge and understanding presented.  The resources are all excellent and I would recommend this program to others because its awesome.
Sarah Rigney, St. Mary's Hampton
I have found the facilitator skills and active listening skills to be very useful.  It has been good to practice these in anticipation of what parents may bring to the group.  The program itself is a good cover of important ideas and the parents will benefit from taking the time to reflect on how their wellbeing affects the family.   I would recommend this PD because parents are often looking for this information and it is good to be able to offer this to the parent community.
Jacinta Cincotta, St. Thomas More Hadfield
The training was very practical, relevant, easy to follow and inspiring.  Very much looking forward to running this with my families.  We have already started running Peaceful Kids with rave reviews and this will be a perfect connector to support children and build understanding for new parents too.  Very inspiring ! I am raving to everyone about it.  Would love my friends & family who are not teachers to learn all of this too.
Laura Johnson, St. Jude's Scoresby
So refreshing to attend a PD that allows you and in fact gives permission for you to 'soften' and be in our bodies, rather than always in our heads. I am so appreciative for the effort and massive undertaking and preparation of the content of Peaceful Parents.  Such a sense of gratitude that I have been able to attend and soak up your knowledge, experience and be able to 'take it to the world' of my community.  There is such positive and such wonderful resources.  This is essential learning and skill sets for all humans, especially for those of use in positions of responsibility.
Jayne Hatherall, Rhythm and Tilt
There is lots of relevant and engaging information.  It is a non-judgemental way to shape parents thoughts about Mindfulness and how to best support their child.  The resources are beautiful, easy to access and really practical to implement.  A fantastic well organised learning experience that will benefit so many people.
Tamika Pettigrove, Solway Primary
The parents are going to benefit from the knowledge and practice of the skills.  I would absolutely recommend this program and would love more staff from our school to attend.
Athina Johnson, St. Augustine's Maryborough
I loved every minute of the course.  So much information which was thought provoking and made one reflect.  Loved the 'hands on' approach and wonderful to share ideas and thoughts with like minded people. Loved the different scenarios and how we can respond without judgement as a facilitator.  This is a fantastic program! I think parents will benefit both on a personal level and also improve their relationship with their child (& others).  Very practical tips / strategies they can use way after the course.  The parent booklet is a great resource for parents to reflect back on.  I totally recommend this training to others.  Would promote the course for people's personal development to help inform parents.  Thank you Georgie for your generous spirit.  You are a wonderful facilitator and motivator !
