Wellbeing for Kids provides a range of engaging, hands on and inspiring Staff Professional Learning sessions that can be held at your school / organisation, online or at our inner city training venue in Clifton Hill.
Mindfulness for Staff & Students
This session staff sufficient time to experience and practice all of the Peaceful Classrooms Mindfulness Meditations and strategies. This day also has a strong focus on staff wellbeing as they have time to understand Mindfulness in context to their own lives to manage their own stress. This session introduces how to develop a personal mindfulness practice to cultivate a balanced life with increased overall wellbeing. Mindfulness practices have been proven to be one of the most effective ways to lower stress levels, cope more effectively with stressful events and prevent stress build up and burn out.
This PL day covers the practical application of positive psychology in the classroom. Staff will learn the background of Positive Psychology and how to implement simple yet effective exercises and practices daily into the classroom or with individual children needing support. Some of the exercises include discovering their own unique character strengths as a staff, gratitude exercises, values exercises which are all presented in an engaging and hands on team building exercises. This learning can then be adapted to the classroom and child-friendly exercises.
Foundations to Flourishing
This session focuses on how our positive emotions are linked to our overall wellbeing. Staff are able to identifying their own stress triggers and how they can cope more effectively to create a balanced life with purpose and meaning. Staff will also learn how to put into practice wellbeing strategies to prevent stress build up and burn out. This session also covers the practical application of Positive Psychology for optimal flourishing. Staff discover the 12 wellbeing practices that lead to optimal wellbeing that they can also implement into the classroom for their students.
Understanding and Supporting children with Anxiety
This session gives staff practical and easy to implement strategies to help children with anxiety in the classroom. The strategies also help all students to build emotional resilience and increase their overall wellbeing. Strategies can be used individually with students or as a whole class and the learning covered enables staff to train other staff members at their school to lead a whole school approach to building resilience in children. This PD also increases teacher’s capability and knowledge in working alongside parents who have children with anxiety or low resilience. Participants will receive a range of resources to use at their school and share with their staff and parent community.
Staff Wellbeing - Looking after Mental Health & Wellbeing
This session focuses on practical personal wellbeing strategies that can be implemented immediately into our lives, which has a positive impact on mental health. Focusing on our wellbeing helps us to stay resilient in the face of adversity and stress. Often it is the small things we do each day that make a big difference, and during stressful times, these simple strategies are often the first thing to go. This session helps staff to create a personal wellbeing plan to map out helpful strategies to look after their mental health. Staff also learn about the stress cycle and how to implement active coping strategies to increase their resources to cope and increase their wellbeing.
